What do we do?
We can apply for new liquor licences, manage your liquor licence transfer, prepare Community Impact Statements for gaming licence and liquor applications, prepare Risk Assessed Management Plans and provide advice on compliance in all aspects of gaming and liquor licensing in Queensland and throughout Australia.
Applying for a Queensland Liquor Licence
Much of our work is the preparation of applications for new Queensland liquor licences. Whether you want a restaurant licence, hotel licence or nightclub licence, we have the knowledge and experience to make the process as smooth as possible for you.
When you engage Liquor and Gaming Specialists to manage your Queensland liquor licence application we handle all aspects of the process. We research, prepare and lodge all paperwork including the community impact statement and risk assessed management plan. We also arrange the advertising of the applications, respond to any objections on your behalf and assist you if an objectors’ conference is required.
In addition to preparing the major elements of the liquor licence applications, we liaise with the Office of Liquor & Gaming Regulation, Police and Council and monitor and manage all other aspects of the applications, ensuring the process is as smooth as possible for you.
Liquor Licence Transfer
If you are buying an existing business, you must apply for a liquor licence transfer and have it approved before you commence trading in the business. Until the transfer is complete, the new business owner cannot sell liquor from the premises and may face stiff penalties for the unlicensed sale of liquor.
We can look after all aspects of the liquor licence transfer to ensure the business transaction is as smooth as possible, this includes preparation of the Risk Assessed Management Plan.
Preparation of Risk Assessed Management Plans
Since the introduction of the Risk Assessed Management Plan in January 2009, we have prepared hundreds of plans for all types of licensed premises.
You need a Risk Assessed Management Plan if you are making any relevant application, such as an application for a new Queensland liquor licence, application for transfer of a liquor licence, application for late trading or an application for a change in licensed area, unless you are categorised as a low risk licence type.
The Risk Assessed Management Plan must be approved by OLGR and an approved copy will be returned to the licensee who will then be obliged to operate the business in accordance with the terms of the document.
The content of the RAMP is of critical importance; insufficient detail will not meet the requirements of OLGR and inaccurate or unnecessarily stringent policies within the RAMP leave the licensee open to inadvertent breaches of the conditions of the licence.
We prepare Risk Assessed Management Plans for applications which will meet all OLGR requirements while allowing you to continue to operate your licensed premises in a responsible yet practical manner.

Applying for a Queensland Gaming Licence
We have extensive experience in the preparation and management of Queensland gaming licence applications. Whilst the ‘pokie cap’ has lessened the demand in this area we have a steady stream of work preparing applications for new gaming licences and for additional machines for existing gaming site throughout Queensland. All our Community Impact Statements meet OLGR requirements.
Liquor Licensing Compliance
Unfortunately, as a licensee, at times you might find yourself in receipt of a warning or fine, or other disciplinary action.
We can assist you in these circumstances by liaising with the relevant authority, and managing any court or tribunal proceedings which may be required to ensure you receive fair treatment, and to minimise any risk to your business in the future. In Queensland, we prepare and file applications to the Queensland Civil & Administrative Tribunal, prepare and lodge submissions, brief Counsel and act as the applicant’s agent during hearings.
